OUR FAMILY
We are living the dream, and happy to share our adventure with you.
Ben and Sierra met in college where she studied business and recreation management and he trained for his private pilot's license. His fetching line was "Hey, wanna go for a ride?" and they have been on the ride of a lifetime every since!
Upon graduation, they overpacked an enclosed trailer, and headed north to seek adventure in Alaska. Within 2 years, Ben found his niche in a law enforcement career, and Sierra found the role of motherhood a happy fit.
As the family grew, so did the dream of living the farm life. With 4 kids, and the family nearly complete, circumstances changed for the best when Grandma Kay joined the adventure.
We are living the dream, and happy to share our adventure with you. We are thrilled you are here, and hope you will make yourself at home.
OUR FARM
We are good stewards of our little patch of perfect, and honor the life and beauty it has to offer.
In August of 2014, we purchased 35 untouched acres of an old Alaskan Homestead. By all accounts, we were looking at the exact same thing the original homesteaders saw when they staked their claim; a thick tangle of black spruce and lingonberries. The air was cool and so rich with the smell of moss and soil I drank it in like syrup.
That afternoon's thunderstorm had just rolled over, and the promise of our future pierced through me like the warm rays of sunshine cutting through to the forest floor. I knew that this was home.
We met with the US Forrestry Service, the Wasilla Soil and Water Conservation District, the US Department of Agriculture and Mat-Su Borough Planning to develop this land in harmony with what Mother Nature would support.
This love and attention to Nature is the foundation of our farm philosophy. We are here as stewards of this land, and honor her life beauty to the best of our ability.
We do not use herbicides, pesticides or other harsh chemicals, and have worked hard to cultivate beautiful, healthy ecosystems that are beneficial to all who call this place home.
OUR FRIENDS
OUR FRIENDS
The hearts and hands of friends and family are the most precious gift. It's our goal to pay it forward, and to share that gift with you.
True friends are hard to find, and we are grateful to have so many amazing people, organizations and businesses in our lives to help us succeed. Without our community of supporters, none of this would be possible.
Hundreds of hands have touched our dream. From finding the land, to cultivating it into the best forever home for us and our peonies, it's the people who make it so very special.
We extend a special thanks to the following people for their support:
The Grays
The Houltons
The Jones's
The Lynches
The Mitchells
&
The Houston High
Girls Athletic teams
It is our goal to pay that love and service forward, and we look forward to sharing our experience and any resources we can to help you live your dreams.
